Ok, so what exactly is it Nitrox? What is Enriched Air? Which one is better? If you’ve just started scuba diving you’ve probably heard the word Nitrox thrown around quite a few times now.
The “normal” air we breathe is made up of Nitrogen (79%) and oxygen (21%). Nitrox is enriched air and contains a higher percentage of oxygen. The most typical nriched air (also called EANx) mix contains 32% oxygen and consequently only 68% Nitrogen.
So where’s the benefit then? The idea behind enriched air, is that if you reduce the amount of nitrogen (remember, that thing that causes the bubbles?) by increasing the amount of oxygen. Extra oxygen results in more energy and less nitrogen. This means your body doesn’t have to work so hard to get rid of the excess nitrogen cause simply there is less. The drawback is that you can’t dive as deep as with normal air but you will easily make the 30 meters.
As a Nitrox diver, you can increase both your no-decompression and your bottom times – you stay down longer You also add a safety margin, plus shorten your surface intervals and can get back into the water sooner. That way you can spend more time diving and less time waiting. This is the perfect course to get the most out of your dive time, especially on multi-dive days. It also helps to minimize diver fatigue.
What you will learn
Upon completion, you will earn an Enriched Air Nitrox certification.

You can do the course both as a dry course but also with two optional dives. The choice is yours!
Our diving days usually start at 08:30 and last 16:30 in the afternoon. Should you decide to do the two dives, we will most likely join the 09:00 am boat and the 14:30 pm boat.
