Overview Bubblemaker on Gili Meno
1/2 day – pool training and 1 ocean dive – get eye-on-eye with Nemo
Attention parents! Are you looking for a fun, easy and safe introduction to Scuba Diving for children? The PADI Bubblemaker programme with Divine Divers on Gili Meno is pure fun for kids aged 8 years and up. Encourage your child’s natural curiosity for learning, exploring and adventure in an exciting, safe way.
Participating children should be comfortable in the water but they don’t have to be expert swimmers. Everything in our Bubblemaker course is designed specifically with your child in mind, right down to the special equipment for kids. This all makes the experience as easy and joyful as humanly possible – for you and your little ones!
Our friendly and experienced instructors will give a short introduction to diving on land before jumping into our specially designed training pool. Under close supervision of their instructor, your child will learn some basic diving skills, practise swimming underwater in full dive gear and blow lots of bubbles.
Does shooting some underwater torpedoes sound fun? What about collecting dive rings from the bottom of the pool? Playing some underwater memory games? All this helps to develop water confidence and essential diving skills without feeling like hard work! If this sounds good, then the Bubblemaker programme is perfect for your little one.
The fun doesn’t end in the pool! After a break, we load their purpose-built kids diving tanks on the boat and drive to a nearby dive site. There we will take your sub-aquatic superstand on a search for Nemo, Dory and Crush.
The maximum dive depth for both the pool and open water dive is limited to two meters, so you can rest assured they will be safe.
Schedule
The diving for children program usually takes 3 to 4 hours! If you think that your child should have a longer break in between the pool dive and the ocean dive, we can accommodate. Expect your kid’s first diving day to look like this:

FAQ
Is my child too young to start diving?
Every child is unique. Children develop physically and mentally at different rates. This makes it difficult to define an age at which kids can safely dive. You should take your child’s maturity, reasoning skills and physical limitations into consideration when determining if they are ready to begin scuba diving.
From 8 years old, kids can join their first diving program. At this age, depth is limited to 2m to ensure your child won’t suffer any pressure or dive related injuries.
Should I get my child into diving?
Participating in any sport should be the decision of the participant. Please consider whether your child really wants to dive. To get your child interested in the underwater world, you can take your kids snorkelling. This will also improve their comfort in the water and using a mask, snorkel and fins.
If your kid is an enthusiastic snorkeler and they would like to take the next step, we can’t wait to take them on their biggest adventure yet!
At what age can my child get certified?
From 10 years old children can enrol in junior certification courses. Junior divers can dive in specific conditions, at limited depths and under adult supervision:
The Junior Open Water Certification allows kids aged 10-11 to dive to a depth of 12 meters.
12-14 year olds kids can dive to 18 meters when diving with a certified adult.
Once they reach 15 years old, their certification is automatically upgraded to an adult certification.
