Overview CoralWatch Workshop on Gili Meno

3 hours – 1 open water dive – get involved in coral health monitoring

The CoralWatch workshop on Gili Meno offers a unique opportunity for diving enthusiasts to engage in marine conservation while enhancing their diving experience. CoralWatch, a global initiative, focuses on coral health monitoring by utilizing a color-coded system to assess coral bleaching.

During the workshop, divers learn how to identify different coral species, understand their ecological importance, and evaluate coral health using the CoralWatch system.

Held in the crystal-clear waters surrounding Gili Meno, this workshop combines education with hands-on experience. Divers are guided by marine experts, who explain the delicate balance of underwater ecosystems and the threats posed by climate change.

Participants contribute to real-time coral monitoring, helping scientists track coral health and contribute valuable data to global conservation efforts. By the end of the workshop, divers gain a deeper appreciation for coral reefs and are empowered to become advocates for marine conservation.

During this workshop you will:
  • Enhance your knowledge of corals
  • Learn to identify certain corals
  • Assess coral health using a colour chart
