1,5 days – 2 open water dives – a two-stepped approach to become an Open Water Diver

Do you already have a Scuba Diver certification, and want to take your adventure deeper? The Open Water Diver Upgrade course is perfect for you. You don’t need to start over and take the Open Water Diver course from the beginning, you just need to complete the remaining skills and training dives.

Upgrading the Scuba Diver certification to an Open Water Diver certification is easy and fun with Divine Divers in Gili Meno. As part of this course, you will get to make two more ocean dives on Indonesia’s biodiverse coral reefs, learn more fun and practical skills in the pool and complete the remaining theory.

Schedule

Generally, the course can easily be completed in one (full) day. However, we are flexible and can accommodate your holiday schedule if you would only like to dive in the mornings or afternoons.

Day 1 (08:30 – 16:30)

• Meet your instructor, recap the theory from your Scuba Diver course and learn more theory about diving deeper and responsible dive planning.
• Take a dip in our specialised training pool to recap some skills from your Scuba Diver course, and learn new skills to make you a better diver and a better buddy.
• Prepare to make two ocean dives at two different dive sites on on the bright, beautiful, breathtaking reefs of Gili Meno.
• Celebrate as you return to land, as you have earned your Open Water Diver certification. Welcome to the club!

Please note, the waters around the Gili Islands have been declared a Marine Park. Therefore a one time Marine Park fee of 100.000 IDR has to be paid by all diving and snorkel tour participants. This fee is NOT included in our prices and has to be paid in cash at our dive center on Gili Meno.

Pre-Requisites

To enrol in a PADI Open Water Upgrade with Divine Divers on Gili Meno you must:

• Be already certified as a Scuba Diver
• Be 10 years or older. All divers up to the age of 14 years will be certified Junior Open Water Diver and there are some depth restrictions for 10- and 11-year-olds.
• Be fit to swim
• Complete a Diving Medical-Statement with us prior to any in-water activity.

We conduct our courses in line with PADI standards.

As Open Water Diver you are an independent diver. You will be able to dive unsupervised with your buddy to a maximum depth of 18 meters. The certification is recognised worldwide and is valid for your entire life.
